Colorado College '21.

I'm Daniel Barnes. I grew up in Basalt, CO and just finished my first-year at Colorado College.

As a performer, I play several different instruments including the trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and jazz piano; I also very much enjoy singing. Last year, I was invited to play euphonium with the Colorado All-State Concert Band, and I sang baritone in the All-State Men's Choir. This summer I'm playing in the pit orchestra for Theatre Aspen's production of RAGTIME.

I also work a lot with software development. This website is custom-built in PHP, featuring a Redis NoSQL server and a custom framework I call "Shellfish".

I'm expecting to major in Computer Science and minor in Music at Colorado College. I'm excited to see where this school takes me.

Creativity and Logic: Block 1

I just finished my first block of class at Colorado College! While FYE classes last for two blocks, the end of this block marks a cadence in my class where we take a short break and get a few days off to relax. I'm fortunately spending the weekend visiting Denver and seeing my friend Hunter, going to her tango class and trombone choir at DU (and hopefully getting a chance to visit my brother at CU Boulder).
